Wall father-son duo turns passion
and hard work into top-notch service

Father-son duo

What started as a personal interest in a garage in Quinn became a full-time career for Michael and Mike Luedeman. Today, the father-son duo runs M & M Sales from their shop in Wall, serving customers with a smile.

“We have a lot of repeat business, and it’s kind of crazy,” says son Michael. “Being in a tourist town, we get tourists or people from other states that have come through that return another time to get an oil change or tires from us.”

M & M Sales handles a wide variety of tire issues, from leaky valve stems to tire replacements and every wheel in between. In addition, they do oil changes and light mechanic work.

Gold-star service

The pair built their reputation on years of good work and customer service, which sometimes require long days for them and their team. Michael explains that sometimes workdays extend into the evening to meet customer needs.

“I try to treat everybody like gold, acknowledging and thanking them, and making sure I track the work they need done,” he says.

From garage to tire gauge

After graduating with a degree in diesel mechanics, Michael returned home to farm and ranch with his father in 2009.

That same year, the pair turned their interest in tires into a passion project. They created M & M Sales to serve people in their community and from around the country. Initially, they used a small garage in Quinn for most of their business.

Michael and Mike made another big business move in 2018. The owner of the former Wall Car Care Center wanted to move on from the business and approached them about purchasing the center. Since then, Michael is amazed by the accomplishments of his family and his team.

“I never would have thought that I would own my own business, let alone in my hometown,” he says. “It’s pretty huge to me.”

Michael appreciates the neighborhood feel of rural communities. He says people in his area know each other well, which is an added comfort. Even when difficulties arise, having a neighbor to watch out for you is reassuring. And he and his father still sometimes help other farmers in the area around harvest season in the fall.

High call volume and hard work

On average, Michael says M & M Sales receives two dozen calls each day. Even with a high call volume, he says he hardly gets overwhelmed with helping new and repeat customers. Michael and Mike also receive tire deliveries for orders placed with their Golden West internet services to maintain their supply of tires.

“We were always raised to work hard, so I never let it bother me,” says Michael. “We use Golden West for the internet and phone lines, and it’s been a great experience. If we didn’t have them, it’d be pretty tough and overwhelming.”

The two have built M & M Sales into a thriving local business through hard work, a commitment to customer service, and the support of family and community.
