Bundled Phone Customers Get 300 Long Distance Minutes Monthly

With more long distance minutes, Patricia Clausen of Burke can call her adult children out-of-state more often and talk longer.

“I call my daughter in Minneapolis, my son in Sioux Falls and another son in Kansas,” Clausen said. “So that means long distance.”

Clausen especially appreciated the increase as she was staying home more due to a previous health issue. “I’m staying in because of COVID,” she said.

In response to the pandemic, Golden West increased long distance minutes for customers who bundle phone with another service to 300 minutes per month beginning in April. The increase will continue as a permanent part of bundles with phone at the same bundle price.

For customers who receive their monthly bills around the first of each month, the Golden West long distance cycle runs from the 22nd of the month through the 21st of the following month. For those who receive their bills around the tenth of each month, the long distance cycle runs from the second of the month through the first of the following month. Unused minutes do not carry over.
