GET READY FOR BE BASH 2021
The Bridgewater Emery School District is excited to host a special Alumni & Friends weekend, BE BASH 2021 on Friday, June 18- Sunday June 20th, 2021.

This special event celebrates all alumni & friends of the former Bridgewater and Emery School Districts and the new Bridgewater Emery School District. We hope you will clear your calendar to be in town, to make time for friends, making a special trip, back home. We want to invite everyone back for a weekend of fun, alumni and friends’ activities. Many students and teachers have walked through the doors of the Bridgewater and Emery School Districts and the Bridgewater Emery School District. This will be a time for individual or multi class get togethers, time to reminisce, and catch up. So clear your calendar, grab your tennis shoes, and get ready for some fun!

BUILD YOUR TEAM BASH
Events will kick off on Friday Morning, June 18th at 10 a.m., at the Football Field/Track Complex, in Bridgewater with an Alumni Flag Football Jamboree. Get a team of seven-ten team players together, come up with a great team name, and get enrolled with Coach Jeff Van Leur at jeff.vanleur@k12.sd.us. We are also looking for seven team member Powder Puff Teams, to join in the fun. Coach Van Leur has put together rules to limit the roughness, but get your team registered soon. Each team member must complete a team waiver form.

BUILDING TOURS
The Bridgewater-Emery School Buildings will be open from 10 am-4 pm, for building tours. You will be able to pick up your event tickets, BE BASH T-shirt Gear, and complete your weekend registration form. SDSU ICE CREAM SOCIAL From 2-4 pm, there will be an Alumni & Friends SDSU Ice Cream Social, in the High School Multi-Purpose Gym in Emery and in the School Lunchroom, in Bridgewater. Featured flavors will be Cookies n’ Cream, Hobo Day Crunch, and Mint Grasshopper.

FFA PROGRAM TOURS
The FFA Advisor, Alex Toupal and his FFA Officers will be available to provide tours of the school district’s FFA Program and the Greenhouse. The school district’s FFA Program continues to grow each year, offering new opportunities to our students, to explore the field of Agriculture.

TABLE DECORATING
Alumni classes, Businesses, and Organizations are invited to purchase a block of tickets and decorate a special table to welcome their class, staff, or organization members, for the evening banquet. Tickets are available by filling out the BE BASH Weekend-Ticket Order Form, that was been emailed out. Please specify your class, business, or group, the number of tickets you would like to reserve, at $20 each. A round table will be sold with 7 tickets and a rectangular table will be sold with 8 tickets. Please specify the Alumni Class, Business, or Organization, that should be listed on your table! We will have tables available for the Bridgewater, Emery, and Bridgewater Emery Alumni by class, as requested.

BE BASH BANQUET SOCIAL HOUR & SILENT AUCTION
Beginning on Friday Evening, June 18th, there will be a Social Hour, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. prior to the Alumni & Friends BE BASH Banquet, in the Emery Gymnasium. If any area businesses are interested in being sponsors for the Social Hour appetizers or who would like to donate a prize for the table decorating contest or an item to be included in the silent auction, please Lori Jansen at 605-449-4271. The silent auction will be held during the social hour, with the auction items being awarded at 6:50 p.m., by Supt. Bailey. Interesting Items already enrolled in the Silent Auction include: SEAHAWK Football and Bridgewater Emery Huskies Indoor/Outdoor Planters, a “Perfect Season” 2017 Boys’ Basketball Team Canvas Print; a 2019 SEAHAWK Football Team Canvas Print; a vintage 4 prong white washed decorative ladder; a ladies’ fashion handbag; a wide banded black leather strap bracelet with jewel stone inserts; red, white & blue nostalgic ice creams bowls with a red, white & blue plaid decorative towel, and “Baking Memories,” a child’s apron with a vintage baking pattern with a pink batter bowl and decorative scraper.

BE BASH BANQUET MEAL & DUELING PIANOS
The BE Bash Banquet Meal will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a catered meal by Central Catering, of Broasted Pork Chops, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Buttered Corn, Cookie Salad, Dinner rolls, and a slice of scrumptious vanilla or chocolate cake, coffee and pink lemonade. The evening will be feature a variety of alumni speakers and a program. There will be a brief intermission before the featured entertainment, for the evening. Bridgewater Emery School District is proud to welcome Andy Gibson, Ryan Merriam and Dan Witte, of the “Dueling Duos” providing lively entertainment from 9-11 p.m. They are a very talented piano group and play a wide variety of oldies and current hits.

SEAHAWK GOLF OUTING The SEAHAWK
Golf Outing will be held on Saturday June 19th at the McCook County Golf Course. Please fill out a registration form on the BEE SEAHAWK Football webpage and submit registration and payment to jeff.vanleur@k12.sd.us.

TROT FOR TIKES-5 K
WALK/RUN Little Learners Daycare Preschool will host a “Trot For Tikes,”on Saturday morning. There will be a 5 K Walk/Run beginning at 8:00 a.m. The run will begin at the Bridgewater Emery School District Athletic Track. Pre-registration is $20.00 and you will receive a free water bottle. The day of event- registration fee will be $25.00 for the run. A registration form is posted online on the BE BASH 2021 webpage of the Bridgewater Emery School website. VINTAGE JUNK-CRAFTS-BOUTIQUE MARKET
We hope you will check out the Vintage Junk/Boutiques/Craft Fair at the Bridgewater School- Emery Site Multi-Purpose Gym, on Saturday, June 19th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A variety of on trend vendors will create a unique shopping experience, for you. Breakfast and lunch will be available from the BE BASH Market Stop. GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT- IN THE CHILDREN’S TRACTOR PULL
Beginning Saturday, June 19th at 10 am, there will be a Children’s Tractor Pull, at the BE Football Stadium. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by Meyer Motor, Innovative Ag, and Hofer Physical Therapy.

No KIDS LEFT INSIDE-A SUMMER LEARNING EXPERIENCE
After the tractor pull, children are invited to the Emery City Park for a Hot Dog Lunch, sponsored by Hyatt’s Green Acres, which is being served from 11:45-12:30 p.m. Al Hyatt will have 100 youth fishing polls, to be given away, courtesy of Pheasants Forever. Following lunch, beginning at 12:30-1:15 p.m., there will be an Outdoor Learning Experience with the Great Plains Zoo, providing a presentation about different types of animals. Samantha Blum, of Little Learners Daycare/Preschool will then oversee fun wildlife crafts and activities. There will also be several inflatables, for upper elementary, middle school, and high school students, sponsored by the National Guard. The Emery Swimming Pool will be open for free swimming, throughout the afternoon. There will be some summer beach balls and beach towels as prizes, throughout the afternoon.

BRIDGEWATER SCHOOL ALUMNI BANQUET
On Saturday, the Bridgewater School Alumni Banquet Social Hour will begin at 5 pm, in the Bridgewater Gym. The Bridgewater School Alumni Banquet will begin at 6 pm. Tickets are available through June 5th.

SATURDAY NIGHT ON MAIN
The Emery Fire Department will be sponsoring, “Saturday Night On Main,” beginning at 6 pm, in Emery. There will be a pork barbecue meal including a pork sandwich, creamy coleslaw, baked beans, choice of chips, a chocolate chunk cookie, and water/juice, being served from 6-9:30 pm, with music to allow for mingling with alumni and friends. The $20 evening tickets include the pork barbecue meal, evening music from 6:00- 9:30 pm, and the street dance band, “The Rude Band,” who will play Rock & Roll, from 9:30-1 am. Tickets for the “Saturday Night on Main,” can be purchased at the same time as other weekend events, but checks must be payable to the Emery Fire Department. If you pre-order your tickets, you help the Emery Fire Department to ensure that enough food is being ordered for the event. You will turn in ½ of your ticket, for a wrist band that specifies if you are 21 or older and then turn in the other ticket half, to eat your pork barbecue meal.

GET YOUR BE BASH T-SHIRT
The BE BASH T-shirt depicts a vintage blue pickup logo, that was designed by our very own Art Instructor, Cherie Ramsdell. The logo features the motto, “Chase your dreams, but always know the road that will lead you home”-from the popular song by Tim McGraw. It is meant to show our alumni, that even though they may have left our communities, to follow their dreams, we are always happy to welcome them back home, especially for our special alumni weekend! The t-shirts have already been ordered for the weekend, however there will be some available for purchase at the Bridgewater Emery Student Booster’s Store during the Market on Saturday. All t-shirt orders will be available for pickup at the weekend registration table, in the lobby of the High School Gym on Friday, June 18th.

FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST & COMMUNITY WORSHIP SERVICE
On Sunday, June 20th, there will be a Father’s Day Breakfast at the Football Field/Track Complex, beginning at Noon. This breakfast is being sponsored by our FCCLA Program, at Bridgewater Emery School. The FCCLA Chapter and their advisor, Frankie Nelson are raising funds to send members to the National FCCLA Conference, this summer. After breakfast at 1 pm., there will be a special “Just For You Dad,” Non-Denominational Father’s Day Community Service, featuring the Pastors, of all the churches in the Bridgewater and Emery Communities. It will be a special time, to honor our fathers, on their special day. We all know that there is nothing better than growing up in a small town- the friendships, the opportunities, and the memories. We hope that you and your family will join us for this fun, summer weekend!
